The TPD-110 is an ETHERNET INTERFACED version of the Bellinger Instruments TPD-100e Time-Position-Data ENCODER/DECODER.

The TPD-110 is operated from a PC consol using the supplied Graphical User Interface (GUI) and only requires a standard 1U 19inch Rackmount space.

The TPD-110 is designed to be a drop in replacement for many types of older timecode generators while providing a myriad of additional features.

Using an INTERNAL fast acquisition 12 Channel GPS Receiver the TPD-110 formats user information, time and navigational information and then presents it for recording as audio tones on an Auxiliary Voice/Audio track of any tape recorder.

The following information is recorded on tape in 1 Second updates:

  • The name of the platform or vessel the recording is being made on.
  • The current GPS Corrected Time (UTC). (An internal Real Time Clock continues to run while GPS coverage is “not available”. This clock is synchronized to the GPS corrected time when available.)
  • The current GPS derived Julian Day, Month & Year.
  • The current GPS Latitude & Longitude. (This data can be overridden by a “Sanitise” option in the GUI)
  • The current GPS Course-Over-Ground.
  • The Tape Recorder and Wideband Source’s Identification Data.
  • Automatic interrogation by RS232 link of the Wideband Source being recorded (e.g. RX741) to retrieve configuration data such as:
    • Current receiver “Mode of Operation”
    • Selected Wideband Output Signal
    • Tuned Frequency of receiver
    • Current Receiver IF Bandwidth
  • Up to 120 characters of “User Defined Text” to describe Mission, Operator details or Tape Archival Information. This user text and the Platform/Equipment ID can be easily entered by the operator via the PC keyboard and supplied GUI.

Other features include:

  • A rear panel connector gives the user access to the NMEA output data from the internal GPS receiver allowing the unit to fill 2 functions in the average installation.

  • A 1 Pulse-Per-Second output accurate to <500nS is available at the rear panel.

  • The TPD-110 is 100% compatible with the original stand-alone TPD-100e.

  • RTCM input for differential GPS accuracy.
